The keyword here is no other than timeliness. You must also avoid those birds that are not bred in captivity. For a beginner just like you, the following are the most ideal birds to breed: parakeets, finches and canaries.

Since Europeans and Americans love domestic cage birds, canaries are absolutely in demand today. They are delighted because of their pretty songs and beautiful color as well. It was in the year 1940’s and 1950’s when there had been a great budgie boom because people were raising the parakeet breed in their barns, backyards and basements. Because of the fact that they have striking finch colors, people became fond in taking good care of them.

Parrots are also very ideal because they have unique characteristics among other birds. Because they can talk, they also have high demand in the market. Some of the parrot breeds that are so popular are lovebirds, cockatiels, African Greys and cockatoos.

The Breeding Process

In order for you to ascertain your success in this business venture, you must prepare everything. One of the details which you must focus on is the breeding process. It is advisable to have three breeds of birds to raise and place them in brooders. It is also important to note that there is enough room for all the birds and that they will be protected from pests, snow and rain. You must also clean the brooder regularly to prevent the risk of any illness that can cause death to the birds.

You must also encourage the birds to mate and the best season for this is on March. Be on the right timing and place one male bird into the cage of the female birds. After that, eggs will be produced. In taking care of the eggs make sure to incubate them in a cool dry place.

With these pointers for raising pet birds for profit, your success in this business is guaranteed.

I like birds of any kind. Their songs bring me closer to nature. We got lots of them in our home.

um.. eggs kept cool and dry will not hatch...at least not in my experience... incubators have heaters designed to keep eggs warm.. and cups for water because humidity is very important.. more so for some species of birds than other perhaps.. but none that I know of need to be "dry".. maybe ostrich? or some desert birds...
